2. System Setup
Step 1: Wash the Components
- Before first use, thoroughly wash all parts (except the filter cartridge) with warm, soapy water. Rinse each part carefully to remove any soap residue.
Step 2: Install the Spigot
- Unscrew the nut from the spigot.
- Place a stainless steel washer and a white silicone washer onto the spigot's threaded stem.
- Insert the spigot through the hole in the lower water chamber.
- On the inside of the chamber, place the white silicone washer followed by the stainless steel washer on the threaded stem.
- Secure the spigot in place by tightening the nut with the provided wrench to ensure a leak-free fit.
Step 3: Prepare the Filter Cartridge
- Soak the filter cartridge in clean water for 10-15 minutes to activate the filter media.
- Rinse the cartridge under running water to remove any loose particles.
Step 4: Install the Filter Cartridge
- Remove the protective cover from the filter.
- Unscrew the wing nut and remove the silicone washers.
- Insert the filter through the pre-drilled hole in the upper water chamber.
- Place one silicone washer on the top side of the filter stem, and the second on the underside inside the chamber.
- Secure the filter by screwing the wing nut onto the stem from the inside. Note: Tighten by hand, but do not overtighten.
Step 5: Assemble the Water Chambers
- Position the upper water chamber on top of the lower water chamber, ensuring they align securely.
- Twist and lock the chambers if necessary, based on your model.
Step 6: Add Water
- Fill the upper chamber with tap water.
- Note: Be careful not to overfill the upper chamber, especially if the lower chamber is already full. Adding more water to the upper chamber when the lower chamber is full may cause leakage from the gap between the containers.
3. How to Use the Filter System
- Dispensing Water: Use the spigot to dispense water from the lower chamber. Make sure to keep the lid on the top chamber to prevent dust and contaminants from entering the water.
- Refilling: Regularly check the water levels. Refill the upper chamber as needed to ensure a steady supply of clean water.
4. Maintenance and Filter Replacement
Step 1: Cleaning the System
- It's recommended that you clean the entire system once a month. Disassemble the water chambers and spigot, and use mild soap and a soft cloth to clean each part. Rinse thoroughly and reassemble the system.
Step 2: Filter Replacement
- Replace the filter cartridge every 6-12 months, depending on usage and water quality.
- To replace the filter, follow the same steps outlined in the initial setup (Step 3). Soak and install the new filter as instructed.
5. Troubleshooting
- Slow Water Flow: If the water flow slows down, the filter may need cleaning or replacement. Follow the maintenance steps to clean the filter or replace it.
- Leakage: Check the spigot and filter installation. Ensure the spigot is tightly secured and the filter is properly locked in place.
- Strange Taste or Odor: If the water has an unusual taste or smell, it may be time to replace the filter. Refer to the replacement instructions in the maintenance section.
